Located on the ancient foundations of Cardigan Castle, Tom and his team offer delicious breakfasts, traditional daytime café menu, stylish afternoon teas and popular Sunday lunch offerings. The team is passionate about providing the best and has launched a unique dining experience with the Steakhouse menu on Friday and Saturday evenings.
We work closely with Castle gardeners to make sure we use the best seasonal ingredients the garden has to offer.

Join us at Cegin 1176 in the evenings to see the contemporary restaurant on the Cardigan castle grounds transformed in to Holden’s steakhouse.
With a menu comprising of carefully selected dishes to satisfy everyone’s taste. The organic ingredients grown in the castle garden are used alongside locally sourced meat and fish. From companies right on our doorstep such as Cardigan bay fish & Dewi James butchers.
From delicate to full favour starters, awaken your senses for your evening ahead. From classics such as creamy garlic mushrooms too adventurous Korean fried chicken.
Moving on to you main. Bursting full of flavour our grass-fed Welsh beef steaks are dry aged to enrich the taste further.
Build your dish to your taste by selecting your cooking preference, sauce, potato dish & salad dressing, the end result is your choice.
If you can’t decide on what cut, we can offer you them all! With the butcher’s block you have cuts of the different steaks, a perfect sharing dish.
Something for everyone, if steak isn’t on your palate not to worry. Why not sink your teeth in to a succulent beetroot burger or a fish steak? The chargrills uses are endless.
If you’ve still got room (you will want to try & squeeze these in). Dessert, all homemade, these classic desserts won’t disappoint. Something our pastry chef is very proud of.
It won’t be a steak house without a great wine list, we have wines from around the world selected from Celtic wines to complement every food choice. From a vibrant, Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand to a Verum, Cabernet Franc from Patagonia. If wine isn’t your tipple, our collection of spirits including Runs, Gins & Whiskeys will surely please you. Not to mention our local brewery, mantle beer.
